Scientific experiments always come with the new innovation that contributes new discovery or technology advancement. There are many scientific experiments which have been done by the scientists. These experiments contributed the harm effects are in term of creation of weapons, pollutions and hackers and the good effects are in term of health care and agriculture.
The most harm affected of scientific discoveries is
the creation of weapons. As a result of the advancement of warfare technologies, the destructibility has increased and hence has claimed many innocent lives. These effects can be clearly seen through the aftermath of World War Two in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The western scientists at that time have invented atomic bombs, which are able to generate massive destruction force. As a consequence, not only the loss of lives, the normal nature of those survived human and other organism's genetics has been altered. This effect has last for several generations.
Besides that, scientific experiments have been leading to pollution significantly. Inventions may evolve substances that are not environmental-friendly. Automobiles, such as cars, release green house gases, such as carbon particles and carbon dioxide. Carbon particles lead to haze, while carbon dioxide leads to an increase in temperature. Discoveries and inventions may prove useful for human. However, these inventions need raw materials to construct. This leads to over harvesting of resources. Events of such include deforestation and petroleum depletion. Defects in production may also result in pollution. One of such defects that lead to pollution is ship wrecks that lead to oil spillage. Another major pollution is creation of waste from negletion and disposal of disused products. One of such examples is creation of materials that cannot be degraded biologically, including plastic. Another example is nuclear waste that emits harmful radiation wherever it is disposed off.
Moreover, the creation of technology is also contributed on the negative impact. For an example is computer. Nowadays many irresponsible people use the computer to damage the other people property. That kind of people is a hacker which can enter the computer system easily. The hacker can steal the money from people account and know the government secret. There is no secure to us using the internet because the hacker can demolish our computer system. Our country also not safe when the hacker get the information about the defend system and sell the information to the terrorist.
Despite of these negative impacts, there are also several positive impacts that can be considered. The main benefit of scientific experiments is creating the human healthcare. More technologies have been developed to offer more diagnosis options to detect diseases more efficiently. For example, X-rays are used to detect bone injuries and CAT scans enable medical doctor to detect tumor growth. Besides, there are more healing options available to cure disease. Diseases such as cancers and kidney failure can now be cured. For cancer patients in early stages, they have the chances to be cured through chemotherapy. Meanwhile, kidney failures can be treated by frequent kidney dialysis to help the patients to live normal lives and extend their life spans.
In addition, scientific experiments also contribute in agriculture sector. These help to increase food supply by produce large quantity of hybrid plants in a short time using tissue culture and cloning methods. Better gene trait can be selected, and make the hybrid plants more resistance to pest. Besides that, hydroponic technology is used widely in agriculture which minimizes the soil-borne pests and diseases of plant.
As mentions on the previous paragraphs, the scientific experiments have been contributed some of harm and good to human and environment. There are very good arguments for both side at this discussion. However, I believe that these experiments give more benefits to our life. Therefore, these experiments should be continuously to create the new discovery to reduce the negative impact.
